Published by PARCO in 2025, HYSTERIC SCRAP BOOK 1984–2024 is a 336-page excavation of Nobuhiko Kitamura’s Hysteric Glamour archive, tracing the Japanese label from its beginnings in 1984 through four decades of fashion, music, photography, advertising and underground culture. Rather than presenting Hysteric Glamour as a clean fashion retrospective, the book gets into the mess that actually made the brand important: rare early pieces, old graphics, contact sheets, Hysteric dolls, advertisements, photography and the constant collision of American vintage, punk, rock ’n’ roll and Japanese street culture. There are even archival images here that had never previously appeared online.
