HYSTERIC GLAMOUR: 40 YEARS OF CHAOS A HYSTERIC GLAMOUR SCRAP BOOK (1984-2024)

Published by PARCO in 2025, HYSTERIC SCRAP BOOK 1984–2024 is a 336-page excavation of Nobuhiko Kitamura’s Hysteric Glamour archive, tracing the Japanese label from its beginnings in 1984 through four decades of fashion, music, photography, advertising and underground culture. Rather than presenting Hysteric Glamour as a clean fashion retrospective, the book gets into the mess that actually made the brand important: rare early pieces, old graphics, contact sheets, Hysteric dolls, advertisements, photography and the constant collision of American vintage, punk, rock ’n’ roll and Japanese street culture. There are even archival images here that had never previously appeared online.

HYSTERIC GLAMOUR ADVERTISMENT ARCHIVE (1990’S-2000’S)

Hysteric Glamour has always occupied its own lane. Equal parts punk, pop culture, Americana, and outright chaos, the brand spent decades producing some of the most memorable advertising campaigns in fashion. While many of these images still exist scattered across the forgotten corners of the internet, they are rarely collected in one place.

ACi has collected a selection of Hysteric Glamour adverts and magazine samples spanning multiple eras of the brand. From celebrity campaigns (Courtney Love) to surreal graphics and unmistakable visual styling, these ads helped define the rebellious identity that made Hysteric Glamour a cult favorite around the world.
